TRI is well-equipped with a full range of transportation software, advanced analysis packages and powerful workstations. It works closely with academic departments and other centers, so that it has a range of additional facilities and laboratories available to it, including two cold rooms for materials testing, a geotechnical and a highway materials lab, and the resources of New York State's Center for Advanced Technology in Telecommunications (CATT). CATT is housed at Polytechnic. Other centers include the Advanced Software Kinetics (ASK), the Polymer Research Institute, and the Energy Systems Laboratories.
